3. Constructing Media
Research, Representation, Exhibition Design, Graphic Design, Branding, Photography
A year-long research grant to study architectural representation.
Architecture is defined through its physical reality, yet described through a construct of media. With its own biases and limitations, representation does not just re-present the subject matter, but rather, it influences how we perceive the work, and intrinsically links how architecture should be conceived and documented, suggesting a new relationship between architecture and its visual language.
As a product of our research, our work was exhibited in both Seattle and San Diego and showcased our progression, process and conclusion. The exhibition was broken down into a series of episodes to highlight the exhibit site’s specific bias and showcased our progression, process and conclusion. A lecture punctuated the end of both exhibitions.
